BET is doing their thing. After faltering a bit in the programming department. They have been making great choices in the past year or two.

Developing original series with substance and reviving the cult hit and uber popular show "The Game" has put them back on the map.

Now BET is going further and developing a new hour long drama called "Single Black Female" starring Gabrielle Union. Deets below:

Via Pop Confidential:

BET is not playing around with their scripted series development! After finding success with sitcoms (The Game, Reed Between The Lines, Let's Stay Together) and even web series (Buppies), A-List star Gabrielle Union is slated to star in the network's hour-long drama pilot, "Single Black Female".

Created by husband and wife team Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil (The Game, Jumping The Broom, Sparkle), SBF follows Union's character as she navigates her career as a popular cable news host—think a mocha Anderson Cooper—while juggling family and personal life as a modern day black woman.

Side Note: BET needs to bring back BET News on a regular basis.
