OSCAR Sunday has arrived. The main event begins at 8:30PM ET after the Red Carpet countdown coverage, which began at 7PM ET.

It's no secret that the Academy Awards has been under intense "side-eye" scrutiny due to lack of people of color reflected in the nominations...yet again.

Quite frankly, it is inexcusable that Ryan Coogler (Creed Director), Michael B. Jordan (Creed) and Idris Elba (Beasts of No Nation) weren't nominated. Many are choosing not to attend or watch the Oscars this year, due to the continued and blatant disregard to Black, Latina and Asian excellence in film.

As I stated previously on this blog; I will be watching the Oscars in support of Chris Rock hosting. In doing so, I hope he lights a fire under the asses of the white dominated establishment and ignites a conversation...an honest conversation on the troubling Academy voting process and the lack of diversity represented by those who are eligible to vote. It is a slap in the face when brilliant, stellar and exceptional work is created and speaks for itself, yet is ignored based on the person whom created the content.

Keeping it all the way real...I would love to see Leonardo DiCaprio finally win an Oscar, for which he has deserved many times over. Hopefully tonight will be his night. It would also be nice to see The Weeknd win for his song Earned It, from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack.
