NC SCREAMS: List of Horror Movies Filmed In North Carolina

Halloween is just a few days away. Get into the "spooky spirit" of things by grabbing some buttery popcorn and watching a horror flick filmed in North Carolina.

North Carolina has locked in over 800 films and television shows filmed in the state, including The Hunger Games, Iron Man 3, The Color Purple, Inkwell, Idlewild, Sleeping With the Enemy, Dirty Dancing, Domestic Disturbance, Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events, The Longest Ride, Message in a Bottle, Forces of Nature, Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, Under the Dome, Sleepy Hollow, Secrets & Lies and more.

North Carolina's film industry is going through a rough time due to the realization that the state's film tax incentive is set to expire at the end of the year. North Carolina's film industry creates thousands of jobs and keeps hundreds of millions of dollars flowing into the state's economy. However, even with those facts; the film tax incentive is being gutted.

Hopefully, NC voters will let their voices be heard when they vote.

One-stop voting (early voting) is currently underway in North Carolina.

North Carolina voters can vote early from October 23 - November 1.
