I can't wait to begin reading the LOVE'S IMPROBABLE POSSIBILITY series. Several folks have recommended this series and its getting rave reviews. Upon reading the reviews from various sources, including book blogs, the anticipation of a "good read".. no pun intended, prompted me to choose, 'Love Lost' by Love Belvin, as the January 2014, book of the month pick.
'Love Lost', is book one in the LOVE'S IMPROBABLE POSSIBILITY series.
However, I would also like to suggest the entire series. So, whether you crack open this book or pull it up on your tablet, I'm sure you can expect a very enjoyable and readable destination.
As always... Happy reading!
LOVE LOST - Book One
Synopsis via Amazon:
Love Lost is book one of the Love’s Improbable Possibility series:
You ever wonder what events led up to an individual’s inability to trust? Love Lost starts off by peeling back layers of a young girl who experienced the loss of essential, reliable and nurturing love.
Rayna Brimm, hailing from an inner-city in New Jersey, survives a series of betrayal and loss only to forge forward in self-preservation and obtain an education in North Carolina. After receiving her degree, vowing never return home, she finds herself in California where she tries to build a self-contained life. She made a personal declaration to get through life without further dependence on others in order to avoid yet another heartbreak.
Only, fate said otherwise.
Enter Azmir Jacobs, a tall, dark, handsome and very wealthy man, who has street credibility and executive power in the corporate world. Azmir has money, power and beautiful women at his beck and call, BUT only one woman has caught his eye. The resilient Rayna Brimm, a woman whose dysfunctional upbringing contributes towards her tough skin, issues with trust and a deep-seated fear to love, turns out to be more than he bargained for when he discovered her in his boardroom presenting a leasing proposal.
Rayna isn’t the only one with a checkered past. Can Azmir conceal his convoluted life long enough to prove that he can provide Rayna the stable and reliable love that she clearly needs and deserves? Or will his lofty lifestyle and endless resources scare her away?
Just when you thought you’d begun the read of an urban novel, you turn the pages and find this is by no means an urban novel, but the journey of a classic love tale and a story of redemption instead.
The Love’s Improbable Possibility series is a slow weaving a journey of love. Be prepared to progress into the world of Rayna Brimm. A story of love’s redemption.
“It’s all about growth in the first book of this wonderful series. Love Belvin’s character development alone is enough to draw you in all on its own. Making the main character, Ms. Rayna Brimm, super relatable is what I loved the most!
It’s fun to read fantasies or fairytales but nothing hits close to home like an excursion dealing with what we go through as people on a day to day basis when it comes to what we expect in a relationship.
After being taking on an unexpected courtship journey by, Azmir Jacobs a successful entrepreneur and business man, you will come across an amazing unforeseen ending that will only have you on the edge of your seat in extreme anticipation for the next book.” ~ Zakiya Walden
LOVE UNEXPECTED - Book Two
Synopsis Via Amazon:
Love UnExpected – book 2 of the Love’s Improbable Possibility series:
Just when Rayna believed she had successfully settled her feet in Los Angeles, efficaciously eluding near-career demise, Azmir Jacobs has infiltrated her mind and world, and now is meticulously thawing her heart. But does he have the endurance to step up at a time where Rayna loses her most stable source in life?
Will the elusive Rayna embrace the UnExpected love that Azmir is offering her? Continue the love redemption journey and experience new characters being introduced; some to foster Rayna and Azmir’s relationship and some to challenge it.
“Once again, in “Love UnExpected”, Love Belvin undoubtedly captures the inner turmoil of a woman gone astray, finding her way through the loss of a love, a stable force and herself. While running from her present, a trip to the past forces Rayna to confront her mirror of lies and embrace her shattered perfections. A step out on faith brings along a journey of first that leads to an uncanny spiraled displays of insecurity.”
~ Kelly A
“I enjoyed the sensual hunger Rayna and Azmir had for each other in “Love UnExpected”. Their sexual desires and romance played together perfectly, showcasing Love’s talent for mixing sex and romance. I was left in awe and couldn’t wait to read the rest of the series!”
~ Juaquanna G–S
LOVE UNCHARTED - Book Three
Synopsis Via Amazon:
Love Uncharted – book 3 of the Love’s Improbable Possibility series:
Rayna thought her life had been cautiously stabilized, in spite of losing her sole source of support. Azmir throws a monkey wrench in her world to include himself. However, not without Azmir exposing a few of his own imperfections.
No matter what mistakes he makes, trying to secure a place in Rayna’s heart isn’t an easy feat. He fights at all cost to remain there, even if it means destroying all competition, including the woman herself, by breaking down the ice walls that surrounds her heart.

[Watch Video] - PORSHA WILLIAMS BELIEVES THE 'UNDERGROUND RAILROAD', WAS A REAL TRAIN:
I didn't even want to post this next entry, due to, the enormous embarrassment and extremely unbelievable realization that Porsha Stewart (Williams), an African-American, could be so foolish in her knowledge of black history, or rather the lack thereof.
This post, was to be published yesterday, but, I just didn't feel like seeing it on my blog. It's just ridiculous and sad as hell. But, I digress, somewhat.
At 32 years of age, Porsha Williams, who's a regular on the hit reality series, 'Real Housewives of Atlanta', made it her duty, to repeatedly tell the other cast members and the millions of viewers, that her Grandfather's legacy was of the utmost importance to her. As it should be.
However, on Sunday night's episode of the hit show, Porsha Williams, solidified the fact that she isn't very bright. Of course, this has been documented on video, since her debut on the show last season. She had a "moment", last season, when she stated there were "265" days in a year. (*Sighs* )
Folks, just didn't want to believe she was that stupid, so it was like an "oops" moment. Perhaps, she misspoke. Well, now we all know, that doesn't seem to be the case.
Yet, she is representing her Grandfather's legacy on reality television, and it is of the utmost importance to her. Chile.
[Above Photo: Hosea Williams, on the far left, pictured with Jesse Jackson, Martin Luther King, Jr and Ralph Albernathy, on the tragic day Martin Luther King, Jr., was assassinated, April 4, 1968.]
If you weren't aware, Porsha's Grandfather, Hosea Williams, was a prominent civil rights activist and scientist. He held a Master's degree and was a member of the Phi Beta Sigma fraternity.
Below is a video of the late Hosea Williams, speaking about the assassination of his friend, Martin Luther King Jr.
Hosea Williams, passed in 2000, at the age of 74.
[Video]- Hosea Williams speaks about the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.
[Video] - Hosea Williams' best friend Ally Pat spoke at his 'Homegoing Celebration' (Funeral)
There is NO excuse, for Porsha, not to know the bare minimal, about the 'underground railroad', and black history in general, ESPECIALLY, being the granddaughter of a civil right's leader, who stood beside Martin Luther King, Jr., in the struggle and was with him, at the time of his assassination.
It boggles the mind, that this child could be so ignorant. It was painful to watch. Folks, the 'underground railroad', is taught in elementary school.
However, it (black history), should also be spoken about and taught, in the home, from parents, grand-parents, etc. At least, in my family, that's how it was done. The best knowledge about one's history, is from the very people, who has lived through it and from the legacy and history of our ancestors.
There are libraries in every city, museums, with a wealth of knowledge and history, that is rich, inspiring and deep. My goodness, I just cannot believe the sheer ignorance.
Porsha should be ashamed. She has to be embarrassed. Hell, she embarrassed her family, black folks, our ancestors and her late Grandfather's legacy. He has to be rolling around in his grave.
But, trust and believe, when those words left her mouth, he (Hosea Williams), along with William Still, Harriet Tubman,
Sojourner Truth, Frederick Douglass, Solomon Northup, Martin Luther King Jr., and many others, who fought for freedom and justice, gathered in the "Heavenly Church", to pray for Porsha, and others like her.

Chimanmanda Ngozi Adichie, is a popular, bestselling author. Her novels are riveting stories, full of richly developed characters, that will pull you in and transform your notion of family dynamics, tragic events, struggles, life-changing circumstances, redemption and triumph.
To date, I've only read Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's novel, 'Purple Hibiscus'. It's a story that will stay with you, well after you've read it. Be sure to check that out as well.
I look forward to delving into 'Half of a Yellow Sun'. As always...
Happy Reading!
Synopsis:
Via Amazon:
With effortless grace, celebrated author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie illuminates a seminal moment in modern African history: Biafra's impassioned struggle to establish an independent republic in southeastern Nigeria during the late 1960s. We experience this tumultuous decade alongside five unforgettable characters: Ugwu, a thirteen-year-old houseboy who works for Odenigbo, a university professor full of revolutionary zeal; Olanna, the professor’s beautiful young mistress who has abandoned her life in Lagos for a dusty town and her lover’s charm; and Richard, a shy young Englishman infatuated with Olanna’s willful twin sister Kainene. Half of a Yellow Sun is a tremendously evocative novel of the promise, hope, and disappointment of the Biafran war.

It started with a hidden desire.
Millionaire CEO Nathaniel West has always played by his own strict set of rules, ones he expects everyone to follow—especially the women he’s dominated in his bedroom.
But his newest lover is breaking down all his boundaries and rewriting his rule book.
Abby King never imagined that she would capture the heart of Nathaniel West, one of New York City’s most eligible bachelors—and its most desirable dominant.
What began as a weekend arrangement of pleasure has become a passionate romance with a man who knows every inch of her body and her soul – yet remains an enigmatic lover.
Though he is tender and caring, his painful past remains a wall between them.
Abby knows the only way to truly earn his trust is to submit to him fully and let go of all of her lingering inhibitions.
Because to lead Nathaniel on a path to greater intimacy, she must first let him deeper into her world than anyone has ever gone before…
Season 17 of 'Dancing With the Stars' ends tonight, with a new winner taking home a mirror ball trophy.
The semi-finals were last night and each contestant did a good job. However, two stood out.
Amber Riley kicked-ass throughout the competition. Her freestyle with Derek Hough was off the chain. She did that!
Corbin Bleu was pure entertainment. He also brought his A game each and every night. His Michael Jackson inspired freestyle with Karina Smirnoff was spot on.
Jack Osborne's freestyle was great. He did good. Jack also proved he's got a little rhythm, while performing his freestyle.
Take a peek at the three couples' freestyle dances.
The 'Dancing With the Stars' season 17 finale airs tonight, at 9PM EST, on ABC.
First Lady Michelle Obama looks gorgeous, wearing a gold jacquard Lela Rose dress and in the holiday spirit, on the cover of the Ladies' Home Journal holiday issue.
Be sure to pick up or download your copy, of this must-have issue.
Welp. Another 'American Music Awards' ceremony has come and gone.
As always, ridiculous outcomes in several award categories become apparent as the night progresses. The fuckery is real.
However, I will not get into all that.
Hold up. I will say.. Taylor Swift is severely overrated. Her popularity makes no sense.
A plethora of 'WTF' moments were front and center at the AMA's. Again, let me just leave it at that. Moving on.
Take a peek at a few performances from last night.
Performances included, Rihanna, who also won the first ever AMA ICON award, TLC, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Florida Georgia Line, Nelly and Justin Timberlake, who SANG 'Drink You Away', a song about heartbreak.
Ummm... Jessica better get her man, he put too much feeling during that live rendition. He sounded like he was going through. He was also very friendly to Taylor Swift...yet again.
Folks, must have also read between the lines and wondered about Jessica's whereabouts.
Well, they didn't have to wait long, she tweeted the following during the show:
I'm watching from home tonight. Calm down, Internet.
Okay.
Jennifer Lopez also performed and gave an outstanding tribute to the late Celia Cruz.
The dynamics of Thursday night's episode of ‘Scandal’ was a delicious entree of drama, intrigue, betrayal, tenacity, romance and a monsoon of shocking twists and turns that ended on a multitude of cliff-hangers that left your jaw on the floor.
Not to give too much away… but “Mama Pope” AIN'T NO JOKE!!! Quinn is in over her head, Harrison did the do, Cyrus pimped out his hubby, to the VP’s spouse, Mellie became head detective, yet complacent, Huck is about to go ham… and Olitz got you all in your feels!
Fitzgerald Thomas Grant III, does NOT play. He is serious with his mack and this was only episode 8.
Swoon.
If you missed last night’s episode, catch it below.
The next episode will air in two weeks. Check the promo for episode 9 titled,'YOLO', after you watch episode 8.

Just have to say, the OLITZ moment was beautiful, romantic and tragic at the same damn time.
Now, lets all bow our heads. Pray that Shonda and her brilliant writing team, will work Kerry Washington’s pregnancy into the story-line.
I think it would go a little something like:
Scene: Olivia is sitting on the side of the tub, in her master bathroom, holding a pregnancy test. Her shoulders are slumped and one hand is pressing to her forehead.
Olivia looked down at the E.P.T stick in her hand, staring at it for a full five minutes. The myriad of emotions playing across her face, ranged from shock, panic, dismay, bewilderment and finally joy. Pregnant, with Fitz’s baby. Her thoughts immediately flashed back to the beautiful and unexpected night, she spent with the President, at the home he built for them. Briefly touching her belly, the slight bump, causes a smile to brighten her face, and dry her tears. This was a big mess. But, Olivia, was determined to make sure she protected her baby and Fitz’s presidency. No one could ever know that Fitz was the father of her child. She needed a plan, quickly. A thought came to mind.
She grabbed her cell phone, speed-dialing Jake's number. As she waited for Jake to pick up, her mind was already in deep thought. Yes. Yes. This could work.

'Best Man Holiday' cast grace the cover of Ebony magazine's November dual cover issue. The mega hit sequel, which hit theaters this past Friday, is getting rave reviews from movie-goers and critics.
I saw the film twice.. and loved it. I laughed and cried. It was a sequel that was well worth the wait. Now there's talk of a new installment to the franchise.
Malcolm D. Lee, the writer and director of the film, is said to be in talks with Universal, for another 'Best Man' film.
I'm sure we won't have to wait fourteen years for the next franchise installment.
If you haven't rushed to the theater to check out this film, you're missing one hell of a treat. Pick up both Ebony covers today or download them to your kindle, iPad or any applicable device.
Don't forget to purchase the 'Best Man Holiday' soundtrack as well. It's a must have, with a stellar musical line-up.
The recent antics and revelations about Toronto mayor Rob Ford, caused him to be stripped of some of his power.
At a recent council meeting, about this very behavior, a circus ensued.
Mayor Rob Ford accidentally ran over a lawmaker, as he took off RUNNING, yes... running (*Tears*), to help his brother, who was reportedly involved in a heated conversation in the chamber.
Have to say though... he was pretty fast. LOL
Video and additional deets below:
Via NBC News:
Canada's most famous politician, charging across the crowded chamber to assist his brother during an "altercation," barreled into a female lawmaker — sweeping her off her feet and leaving her with a fat lip.
"It was a complete accident," Ford said later. "I sincerely apologize."
The incident happened as legislators debated a series of measures to strip Ford of much of his staff, budget and authority after a stunning run of bad behavior that included crack-smoking, drug-buying and drunk-driving.
The meeting was full of drama: lawmakers pleaded with Ford to get help; the mayor vowed revenge against anyone who voted against him; and spectators shouted "Shame!"
But the most surreal moment came when Ford, who appears to be in the 300-pound range, suddenly darted across the room and right into Councilor Pam McConnell, who fell.
Video of the mishap seemed to show him helping to pull the woman back up.
"I rushed over there because my brother was in an altercation," Ford explained when one of the lawmakers announced McConnell had a swollen lip and demanded an apology from him.
Apology aside, the 44-year-old mayor was mostly defiant as lawmakers turned him into little more than a figurehead for Canada's largest city.
"It's a coup d'etat, that's all this is," Ford said as he arrived at City Hall.
"Is this an emergency?" Ford later demanded during a question-and-answer session about the motion.
A chorus of "Yes!" came from spectators behind him.
Just before the vote, Ford gave an impassioned speech that included a tortured analogy in which he compared the Council to former Iraqi despot Saddam Hussein and himself to Kuwait.
"This is going to be outright war in the next election," he said.
"You’re absolutely right I’m mad because every one of you guys have sinned!" he said, continuing to rant even as the microphone was cut.
"What goes around comes around friends. Remember what I'm saying."
The mayor's chief defender was his politician brother Doug, who denounced the session as a "kangaroo court" and said if his colleagues wanted to get rid of the mayor, they should call an election.
Several legislators said the motion to sideline the mayor was undemocratic and would cause chaos in municipal government. Others expressed sympathy for Ford and urged him to get help.
“I believe the mayor is ill and I believe some of the decisions he’s made lately are because of that,” Councilor Georgio Mammoliti said. "I think you're addicted, Mr. Mayor."
Councilor Adam Vaughan agreed: "You need help and I hope that someone can convince you to get it.”
Councilor John Filion said Ford had given him and other legislators little choice but to sideline him.
"It's time to take away the keys," he said.
"The mayor can end the drama but he has chosen not to."
The sweeping measure under consideration Monday follows two other more-limited motions passed by an overwhelming vote on Friday.
Welp. Trayvon Martin's killer, George Zimmerman, was arrested again on Monday, after a disturbance at a Florida home. [NOT surprised.]
George Zimmerman allegedly pointed a gun at his girlfriend, pushed her outside and then barricaded himself in the home. He was later arrested on aggravated assault, battery, domestic violence and criminal violence charges.
Additional details below.
Side Note: George Zimmerman has a history of violence, and yet, evades prison time. Hopefully, he will finally get the punishment he deserves and spend some quality time incarcerated.
A few days ago, Martin Bashir gave commentary on Sarah Palin's recent ignorant "slavery" remark. This wasn't the first time Sarah Palin used the term "slavery", in comparing policy, (a subject she doesn't understand or comprehend,) while the sitting President is a man of color.
Coffee literally spewed, as I watched this video.
As you can imagine, white wing conservatives... oops, I meant, extreme right wing conservatives, are crying foul and calling for sponsors to drop their support from Martin Bashir's show.
Like really? Palin threw the first derogatory insinuation. Deal.
Bashir went in and read Palin's red-neck imbecillic ass. He basically told her to "eat shit"! *Dead*
Btw...I'm not a fan of Martin Bashir...I've referred to him as "Bashit", ever since his shady interview with the late-great Michael Jackson.
Check the video below.
*WipingTearsAsIPourMoreCoffee*
Now...remove Sarah Palin from the context of the commentary. The reality of the actual words describing the way the term was brought about during slavery is horrid. Hope the folks involved in the atrocious acts are feeling the eternal flames.
The wait is over! The highly anticipated sequel, 'The Best Man Holiday', is in theaters now! Can't wait to see it. This is going to be the MUST SEE film this weekend. Go out and support this film, it will surely be a huge hit!
