A teaser trailer for the upcoming M. Night Shyamalan science fiction film "After Earth" has been released at the film's official website. The video shows viewers the history of the film's fictional universe. After Earth stars real-life father and son Will Smith and Jaden Smith, 14, as General Cypher Raige and his 13-year-old son, Kitai. The film is described as follows by Wikipedia: "One thousand years after cataclysmic events forced humanity's escape from Earth. Nova Prime has become mankind's new home. Legendary General Cypher Raige returns from an extended tour of duty to his estranged family, ready to be a father to his 13-year-old son, Kitai. When an asteroid storm damages Cypher and Kitai's craft, they crash-land on a now unfamiliar and dangerous Earth. As his father lies dying in the cockpit, Kitai must trek across the hostile terrain to recover their rescue beacon. His whole life, Kitai has wanted nothing more than to be a soldier like his father. Today, he gets his chance." Jaden's "debut" in movies was a cameo in "Men in Black II." He also co-starred with his father, again as his on-film son, in the movie "The Pursuit of Happyness." The video shows the history of the world, but also of the family, which was first surnamed Radoslav and later changed its name to Raige. The video continues through human history, including a meeting between President Kennedy and a Raige family member over nuclear proliferation. Eventually, we are shown how the Raige family led the evacuation of humanity from a burnt-out husk named Earth.
