NBC’s highly anticipated Broadway-tinged series Smash doesn't begin its run until February 6, but audiences can now view the entire premiere episode before it hits the airwaves. Smash follows Julia Houston (Debra Messing) and Tom Levitt (Tony nominee Christian Borle), a successful songwriting team who begin work on a new musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe. When a tenacious producer (Anjelica Houston) jumps aboard, so begins the difficult task of casting the silver screen icon. Ivy Lynn (Megan Hilty), a tough Broadway veteran, seems like the obvious choice but she might have some unexpected competition from newcomer Karen Cartwright (Katharine McPhee). The pilot episode alone features appearences from Broadway vets like Brian d'Arcy James, Annaleigh Ashford, Dylan Baker, Maddie Corman and more.
