"The X Factor USA" - Week 7 Elimination - An Emotional & Shocking One!

The "X Factor USA" elimination last night was a tough one. Marcus Canty was back in the bottom 2 and Rachel Crow was placed there as well, I believe it was her first time in jeopardy of elimination.

Both had to sing their survival songs and as the process goes... the judges would then choose who should go home after their performances.

Marcus Canty came out and did his thing. He gave an emotional performance. However when Rachel Crow stepped on the stage, she sang like it was the last time she would ever get to sing. She tore that song up.

The person who should have stayed... based on their survival song no doubt was Rachel Crow. She earned it with that performance.

As expected L.A Reid kept Marcus, he is his mentor.. so that wasn't a surprise. Simon Cowell of course kept Rachel Crow, he is her mentor. So the decision basically was in Paula Abdul's and Nicole Scherzinger's hands.

Paula chose to send Marcus home based on the survival song performances. So it was 2-1 at that point in favor of Marcus leaving the show. So when it was time for Nicole to choose she became emotional and didn't know what to do.. she said she didn't want to be the one to send Marcus home. [PAUSE]

Marcus Canty is an extremely talented artist who is going to okay because L.A. Reid in his words stated he "got his back". Marcus is going to get a very nice record contract... for that is sure.

So Nicole should not have been so torn over the decision, clearly Rachel Crow deserved to stay in the competition based on the survival song and that had been the way Nicole had voted in the past.

So instead of choosing Rachel Crow to stay, she chose to deliberately tie up the competition and forced it into a deadlock, which at that time... America's vote's would determine who would be eliminated. (Keep in mind, America's votes were based on the performances of the previous night...not the survival songs).

The Elimination:

Even though it was a shocking elimination and no one wanted to see Rachel break down in tears, bless her heart... folks need to stop with the threats and crazy behavior based on a competition show. The backlash Nicole is getting is ridiculous. Some are even trippin on Marcus Canty. They need to cease with that ish and get back to reality!

Rachel Crow will be okay. Simon Cowell is definitely going to make sure she not only gets a record contract, but the offers are going to be flying in to get Rachel on television and in movies. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see Rachel ink a deal with Disney.
