Third time's a charm, y'all!

Sure, it was just this week that Britney Spears' camp was denying the latest round of tabloid reports that she and her newly turned 40-year-old love Jason Trawick were engaged—but that was then. This is now.

And what a difference a day makes—right now there's no denial necessary, because E! News has confirmed that Britney and Jason are getting hitched!

Sources confirm the engagement took place Thursday night, when Britney and Jason shared an intimate dinner together in honor of Trawick's 40th birthday. E! News confirms that the couple is now set to formally celebrate their forthcoming nuptials tonight in Las Vegas—the same sinful city, it just so happens, that her first quickly annulled marriage came into being.

Though there's been no formal announcement, Britney herself hinted at the engagement news earlier today.

"OMG," she tweeted. "Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for. Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo."

Though just how much of a surprise his question-popping was is unclear. According to reports, the freshly turned 30-year-old was well aware that her beau of nearly two years was planning on popping the question, as prior to the night, he asked permission both from her father Jamie Spears (aww) and her conservators (oh).

Congratulations, Britney and Jason!

Side Note: Something ain't right. Now I'm a huge romantic and luv weddings and luv LOVE. So it's always fab news to hear someone is getting married. Britney has a history of rushing into marriages. First hubby lasted a few hours, second hubby just spent her dough but she did have 2 precious sons out of that short-lived marriage... a marriage that nearly drove her crazy. So one has to wonder. Now that she seems to be okay, her career is back on top, why in the world would you marry so quick? Why not live together in happy bliss and have a period of an "engagement". To get married after being engaged 1 day is just... Red flags poppin up all over. Especially since her father is still over her money/legal matters due to her past mental issues. Not telling anyone how to live their lives, just making an observation. With that being said... Congrats to the couple. Hope it lasts and he ain't trying to get on the gravy train!
