I am deeply saddened. Sen. Edward Kennedy, who had brain cancer has died at the age of 77.
The Kennedy family has endured such tragedies, but through it all Edward Kennedy was the patriarch of the family.

With the tragic loss of his brothers President John Kennedy & Robert Kennedy, he became the father figures in the lives of their children...walking Caroline Kennedy down the aisle during her wedding, and he along with the entire Kennedy family, had to deal with the heart wrenching death of Jackie Kennedy Onassis.

Who could forget the devastating loss of John F. Kennedy Jr & his wife (along with her sister) in a plane crash...Edward Kennedy kept the family together. That strong base, the unbreakable family bond will continue along with the Kennedy legacy.
With the passing of his sister Eunice Kennedy Shriver, Sen. Kennedy was unable to attend her funeral, but I'm sure, his family in heaven are with him now, the suffering is gone and he did his family and the world proud!

President Barack Obama and Sen. Ted Kennedy were good friends, so I'm sure the fact that the President and his family arrived in Mass. a few days ago, had something to do with the fact that the President knew the status of Sen. Kennedy's condition and wanted to visit his friend.
